A native of Tianjin, China, violinist Muna Martin received her training from some of the greatest teachers and institutions in the world. She studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under professor Yao-Ji Lin, and at age 14 was awarded a scholarship to the Julliard School to study with Cho-Liang Lin. A year later she was accepted to the Curtis Institute of Music where she studied for 5 years with the legendary violinist Aaron Rosand, and graduated in the same class with such luminaries as Lang Lang and Hilary Hahn.
Mrs. Martin won 3rd prize at the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, and has been a laureate of the Indianapolis and Wieniawski International Violin Competitions. She was a fellow at the prestigious Marlboro Music Festival, and has held positions in the first violin sections of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and Opera Company of Philadelphia. Mrs. Martin now performs regularly with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. A passionate and giving teacher, she offers violin and viola lessons in Mandarin Chinese as well as English.
